“BASE” NUMBERS – Faster Recognition (COOL!)

Postby l3forum on Wed Feb 11, 2009 3:26 pm

Operators/Coordinators: Because we can now recall so many numbers, in the-heat-of-battle, 163 (one hundred sixty three) could be interpreted as 100-63. Solution: What if we first say: i.e.“Base 100” - 38-01? This way, we KNOW to first key-in 100, then our brain, as per normal, only has to deal with hearing a standard 4-digit number (i.e. thirty-eight, oh-one) to quickly complete the recall of page 100-38-01. Discuss.

This is how I say the numbers to the operator, hopefully it makes sense.
page 163: I say one-sixty-three.
page 1063: I say ten-sixty-three.
page10063: I say ten-0-sixty-three.

Hopefully this is easily understood.

Personally, I respond better to 100-63. I can certainly adapt to any coordinator's favorite method, but I prefer 100-023.
