Operators/Coordinators/Producers/Directors: Picture this: driving down the expressway at 70 mph as your front seatmate reads the map and offers directions. This works: “Not at THIS street... but at the NEXT intersection… we’re going to turn right”. This does NOT: “Turn Right!!!” (Bang!, never saw THAT coming). OPERATORS: Let the COORD know if something is going technically awry with the machine. COORDS: Say “on the Backside” BEFORE having Op type in a long page number only to have to change channels and re- enter it again on CH 2. PRODUCERS: If going to Sound Bites, Billboards, Flashbacks, etc., Make Sure “graphics” is Onboard/Aware! Many times they are tied up (4 menus deep in the machine) building a graphic you want and can’t get back out in time. DIRECTORS: Sync-up with your producer. Conflicting directions forces mistakes, And, please shout: “Hold That Graphic” if you are coming back to it. Discuss.
